Blanding~3/23/13

Wow this is way out of order! Oh well.
So, we're moving.
We don't know where and we don't know when. In fact we don't even have a job yet.
But Kirk told his boss he was officially quitting and that end of May or beginning of June would be his last day. We've met with 3 different options for employment near where Kirk is from or so we thought. The third option that we kind of thought might be our best option changed a little. One of the owners called and really wants to hire Kirk but they are hiring for a position in Blanding, Utah.
I'd never been to Blanding so we thought we would take a trip and check it out before making any decisions. We drove to Cleveland, Utah on Friday and went to dinner with the owners of the clinic. They were really awesome and would be great to work for. Saturday we headed to Blanding. We stopped at Hole in the Rock for a break with the girls and explored a little.
Then we ate lunch in Monticello and drove around there for a little while.
Then we drove around Blanding. It seems like a nice place. The town is small and would probably be a great place to live with great people. It has a community pool, a couple museums and a great library. It is, however, very isolated. Very.
We are still thinking about the idea but living so far from family and in such an isolated place might not work for me. I've struggled enough here in Panaca and I'm not sure I could handle it.
It makes me feel bad to let my need for 'stuff' to have such a huge impact on Kirk's career choices but he really doesn't want me to be miserable. We shall see.
On our way home we stopped in Moab for ice cream. (Being close to Moab would be awesome!)
Then we stopped at this arch to explore a little more. (Wilson arch)

4 years!!!!~3/27/13

Well we made it to 4 years.
And it has been the best 4 years ever!
I can't believe I get to be married to this guy for eternity.
He's my favorite.
We celebrated with a nice romantic candlelit dinner made by yours truly and eaten at home with the girls. Don't worry, we plan to do something another weekend. We just couldn't fit it in this week.
Love you sugarbritches!! Forever and Ever.

I like to ride my bicycle~3/29/13

Now that the weather is turning warmer we try to walk as often as possible to the store or park or post office. Occasionally Heidi will let me ride the bike. She would much rather walk and push her stroller or pull her wagon. But by the end of the walk I'm usually holding her while pushing the stroller with Alice. Not so much fun for Mom.
She got a new bike helmet from Grandma so she was willing to ride in the bike stroller so she could wear it.
Alice Lue was loving the ride too. Poor kid has to be wrapped and then strapped in the stroller just to keep her upright. She likes to throw up gang signs too. =)

Panaca Easter Egg Hunt~3/21/13

The Panaca Elementary School does an Easter Egg hunt every year and everyone is invited.
It's one of our favorite things to do here.
Heidi seriously loves to go.
They do it in the field at the park and there are tons of kids so Heidi couldn't be happier.
It was a little windy and cold that day so it could have been a bit better but it was great.
We had this bunny costume and I couldn't resist putting it on Baby Alice.
Seriously, have you ever seen a cuter Easter Bunny?!

Heidi always wants to get her picture taken whenever the camera comes out. Little ham.
She's very determined to get those eggs.

This is another reason we love little towns.

Happy St. Patrick's Day~3/17/13

I love holidays.
I love an excuse to celebrate anything.
I made our traditional corned beef and cabbage meal this year and it was delicious again.
We also made green pudding treats with mint Oreos. Oh my, they were divine.
I didn't do a big party like I have in the past but we had a great time with our little family.
After church we went on a little walk because it was so nice out.
The coolest baby I know.
She rode like this the whole time. Didn't mind the hat or sunglasses at all.
That's my girl!

Gazing at the sky~3/10/13

Alice loves to be upside down.
Seriously loves it.
She also loves to bend her neck back and look at you while you are holding her.
I love the view!

Amish for a day~3/9/13

We have some friends here in Panaca named the Heatons.
We keep Desi (our horse) in their pasture with their horses so we're pretty good friends with them.
Saturday Tyler called Kirk and told him that he was going to work on the fence at the pasture so Kirk went to help.
I needed to get dinner ready a couple hours later so I went to find him and just make sure he hadn't gone to the store yet.
When I got to the Heaton's house I found them hitching up the horses and carriage.
So we went for a ride.
It was so awesome!
These horses are Amish trained and the whole set up came from the Amish.
Alice hated the ride. It was a little too cold for her and she was getting tired and hungry.
Kirk even drove the team.
So Fun!!
This is what small town living gives you. =)

 The twins.
This was a break in Alice's crying.

Driving the team. We drove right down Main street.
Thanks to the Heatons!
