Best Birthday Surprise

While I was at work on Friday I got a text from Kirk asking what time I was going to get off. I told him I would probably be getting off early but he needed to know exact time. He told me to let him know the moment I walked out of my office. Before I even got into my car.

I LOVE SURPRISES!!
Obviously I did as Kirk asked and was told to get off on the Spring Mountain exit and park at the Palazzo Casino. I was so in the dark. I had no idea what we would be doing there. I thought perhaps we were meeting Brady ad Shanda for dinner since Shanda works there. We met in the parking lot and walked to the elevators to makee our journey into the casino. If you have been to the Palazzo you may have noticed that they play Phantom of the Opera music in the elevators since that's their show. As we were riding up the elevator, listening to the lovely Phantom, Kirk asked if we should go see Phantom of the Opera that night. I answered yes as I would have any day that question was put forth. Then I caught on (way faster than the honeymoon secret).
Phantom of the Opera!
That was my surprise. We were only there right after work so we could buy the ticket since we needed both of our student I.D.'s for the student tickets that were only $34!

I snapped this picture as the woman seating everyone was yelling at me that pictures weren't allowed to be taken in the theater at any time to which I very politely ignored. The show was amazing. I absolutely loved it! Best birthday surprise ever. After the show we decided to go to the Bellagio and see the gardens and the fountains.

Apparently this lovely decor was inspired by Chinese New Year and the year of the tiger. Very Cool.

I don't usually like to stop strangers on the street and ask them to take my picture so Kirk and I have loads of photos taken in the very same pose. Oh well. At least we document life, even if it is close up. =)

Thanks Kirky for an awesome birthday present. You're amazing.

Scott took me for Christmas--wasn't it amazing? I think I would pay to go to that performance a million times before repeating some of the other "shows" in Vegas. Glad you had a good time!
