Birthday Monday

Monday we had the day off of school and work. Thank you Martin Luther! We spent the day being pretty boring. I continued my bathroom painting projects and Kirk had school work he had to focus on. We did sell the weight machine we got for free a couple months ago. The guy emailed us and asked us if we could deliver it. We were bound to make a pretty buck off a machine that cost us nothing so we decided we'd rent a truck from Home Depot if it meant getting the thing out of our garage. We got the truck and came home to load up the beast. Now, I am not strong. Not even a little. There is probably a total of seven people I am stronger than in this world and half of those would be small children. However, Kirk and I had no choice but to load the machine into the bed of the truck just the two of us. Kirk was on the weighted end and I on the other. Unfortunately I think I was probably more hurt than help but we did get it loaded. We drove to the guys house and ask him if he could help unload it. He gave us some ball-baby story about his left side has been acting up so he wouldn't be much help. So again my muscles got the workout of their lives. We did get it into his apartment (luckily on the first floor) with only minimal scratches to his narrow doorway and with a very rapidly beating Katie heart. I run marathons, I swear. =) He handed over the cash and we had to make a mad dash back to Home Depot before we would be charged another hour's rental time. As bad luck goes, we of course ran into an accident on our way back to the store. It made us about 10 minutes late but Home Depot found their charity and only charged us the minimum fee. Then Kirk pulled something out of his pocket and what surprise did he find? The pin to the weights on the machine. Here we go again. Finally we got all parts of the machine to its new owner, rental truck returned and Kirk even got a fist bump from the guy and $100 cash burning a hole in our pockets. By this time it was almost 5pm and dinner hadn't even been started. We just earned $100 for our labor so what do we do? Asian buffet. We were too hungry to wait for dinner so we decided to treat ourselves. The buffet was good. It had far too many gross things mingled with the sparse amount of food I would actually eat. Seriously who eats sea horses?
When we leave the buffet Kirk goes to some random shopping center. He parks the car between two stores and almost to the very bottom of the parking lot. He told me I couldn't watch what store he was going in so I had to drive somewhere else. I needed to go to the grocery store but I still felt a little weird to just leave Kirk in some parking lot. Oh, and it was raining. Shocking, I know for Vegas but it's true. I ran to Albertson's and picked a few things we needed then headed back to pick up my abandoned hubs. We headed home but Kirk made another pit stop at Walmart with the same preamble stating I couldn't go with him. Instead I had him drop me off at Michael's. Finally our random shopping trips were over and we headed home for the night. What a day! =)
