Timber~7/5/15

So the kids and I went down to Logandale for the fourth of July.
Some of the Heath Baileys were there so we wanted to see them and Logandale always does a great Fourth.

Kirk had to work so he stayed in Monticello. One of the worst parts of being so far from family is when we actually do get time to go see them we either can't stay very long because Kirk has to get back for work or I have to take the kids alone because he can't miss work. I hate being there without him but we do what we have to.
While we were gone this time Monticello had a pretty good rain storm. We have been having such a wet summer which is great for crops and gardens.
This one though caused a little damage.

Knocked down half of our awesome tree.
This tree was one of the best apricot trees in town because it bore so much fruit when it didn't freeze and offered so much shade.
We are sad to see this happen to it.
Two winters ago it actually cracked right down the middle of the trunk from the heavy snow but never fell. It went through a whole winter with the crack but then finally gave way in this storm.
I am so glad Elsa wasn't underneath it when it happened.
We will miss our awesome tree.
